Janessa Toole

Janessa is born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She started dancing at 6 years of age and fell in love with performing on stage. Janessa is well versed in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Modern, Hip-Hop and most recently, Heels. She first started her training at Rising Star Dance Academy for 2 years. She then transferred to Doreen Bisset School of Dance where she spent the majority of her training. In this time Janessa would be recognized for her work from winning awards, to having the chance to travel to New York City, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto for her training. She realized that she wanted to take her training to the next level and was accepted into the Intensive Training Program at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet until the age of 19.

Janessa had joined B.O.S.S Dance Company to further her knowledge in Hip-Hop, under the direction of Genie Baffoe. Wanting to deep dive into the world of Hip-Hop, she later joined Kelvin Tu and Richie Sarao, directors of Project Dance Company in 2014. Currently, Janessa is apart of The Heels Method directed by Orielle Marcus.

Janessa has participated and won numerous awards from Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival, Canadian National Dance Championships, Triple Threat Dance Convention, Jump Dance Convention, Nuvo Dance Convention, Canadian Hip-Hop Championships in Montreal, Quebec and International Hip-Hop Championships in San Diego, California.

Janessa has worked professionally and performed all across U.S and Canada with Bubble Guppies Live, Shopkins Live, Franklin the Turtle Live and Baby Shark Live at KDays in Edmonton, Alberta where they currently hold the World Record for the Largest Baby Shark Dance performed. She has also performed behind Vita Chambers, a singer- songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. Janessa is also featured in Dead Town’s music video for ‘Monster’.

Currently, Janessa is still training and resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
